Untitled

The haunting photos taken by Francesca Woodman between 1975 and 1981 embody fragmented realities; combining voyeurism with vulnerability to create conflicting identities.
Woodman appears uncertain and at odds; movement dominating frozen scenes.
The subject was almost always the woman - the body, and frequently herself. She committed suicide aged 22 by jumping off of a building in New York city, a fact which cannot fail but imbue a further layer of intrigue and romance on her already provocative photographs.
